Soderbergh challenges his directorial skills with this nifty paranormal narrative shot entirely through the eyes of the spirit. The premise is enjoyable that doesn't outstay its welcome, featuring a surprise that could catch you off guard. October 11th, afternoon and evening times, the Sky channel

The Black Phone Horror
Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller remains effective without requiring a continuation. Set in the late 70s in Denver, multiple disappearances has rendered the local kids on edge. After Finney is taken by “the Grabber” and held captive in a dungeon, he anticipates the worst. However, the old telephone on the wall continues to ring, with ghostly voices providing assistance, and the intuitive nightmares from his sibling Gwen might rescue him. An effective horror. This Dramatic Portrait
In the conflict between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for Mammon in this director's delightfully tacky true story of the disgraced TV preacher and her criminal husband. Garfield portrays the venal Jim, who declares at the beginning, asserting religious justification for riches. The couple begin profiting from the nation's religious faith. It's a spectacle of poor styling, overdone appearance and bad faith, yet the lead actress manages to present the character with compassion. Tuesday 14 October, late night, the Film4 channel
The Spy Mystery
